Eventim Apollo Hammersmith

The Eventim Apollo, formerly known as the Hammersmith Apollo, is an iconic entertainment venue located in Hammersmith, London. Built in 1932 as the Gaumont Palace cinema, this Grade II* listed building has a rich history in the arts, having hosted a wide range of events including live music, comedy, and dance performances.

With a capacity of 3,500, the Eventim Apollo is a spacious yet intimate venue that attracts world-renowned artists from various genres. I’ve had the opportunity to photograph several memorable shows at this venue, including the mesmerizing Nordic folk band Heilung and the powerful German metalcore group Heaven Shall Burn.

One of the most notable features of the Eventim Apollo is its large stage, which provides ample space for elaborate set designs and immersive visual productions. This is particularly evident in the case of Heilung, whose captivating performances incorporate intricate costumes, ancient instruments, and atmospheric visuals that transport the audience to another realm.
